Your positions, written down once
A playbook is what your firm has decided: what you want in a separation agreement, what you would accept instead, and the wording you would use. Every document is then checked against it, and the answer is a verdict per rule rather than an essay.
- A rule is a record, not a prompt
- What you want, what you would accept instead, the risk level, the exact wording you prefer, a note for your own team, a comment to offer the other side, and whether it needs a named approver.
- Every finding quotes the document
- The words it is about, copied out, with the page. A suggestion that cannot point at anything in the document is thrown away before you see it, and the count of what was thrown away is shown.
- Applied in your name
- A change from a review goes into the draft as a tracked change with your name on it and the time. A redline that cannot say who made it is no use to whoever reads it next.
Playbooks
Stop deciding the same thing on every matter
Six starters are written for UK family law and every rule in them is yours to edit the moment you clone one. A separation agreement, a Scottish minute of agreement, a consent order, a pre-nuptial agreement, a client care letter, and a first pass that catches the square brackets nobody lives down.
- A fallback is the point of it
- A position you would prefer and a position you would accept are different things, and a review that cannot tell them apart is no use in a negotiation. Every rule holds both.
- The wording you would actually use
- Where a rule is not met, the suggestion is your own clause, not a paraphrase of it. You wrote it once; it appears every time.
- Jurisdiction is on the playbook
- A playbook written for Scotland refuses to run against an England and Wales matter. It is not offered in the list and it would be refused if it were.
- Who signs it off
- A rule can require a named person's approval, so the clause that always goes to the partner always goes to the partner.
The first pass
A verdict per rule, not a page of prose
Choose which side you act for, how much you want reported, and whether to check against a playbook. Three decisions, because a review with fifteen settings is a review nobody trusts the output of.
- Meets it, meets the fallback, meets neither, silent
- One of four, per rule, with the quotation underneath. Coverage is the share of your own rules the document meets, which is a real number.
- Risks and mistakes without a playbook
- Names that change halfway through, dates in the wrong order, figures that do not match in words and numerals, a cross-reference to a clause that does not exist, a placeholder left in.
- Or ask for something specific
- "Check every figure against the schedule, and tell me anything that assumes the relevant date is the date of trial."
- Accept them one at a time, or several
- Bulk acceptance takes the ones you ticked, not a filter, and records each one separately with your name against it.
The editor
Write it here, with the review beside it
Text, headings, lists, quotations, links and pictures, saved as you type. The review sits next to the draft rather than in another window, and a suggestion goes in with one press.
- Tracked changes that name a person
- Inserted text underlined, replaced text struck through, both carrying the name of whoever applied them. Accept all or reject all, or work through them.
- Versions you chose to keep
- Autosave keeps the working copy current. A version is a point you marked with a note saying why, which is the only kind of history anybody reads.
- Pictures belong to the matter
- An image in a draft is stored under that matter's own permissions. It is not a picture on the open web with a link that happens to be long.

Not a market benchmark
Comparing your agreement against thousands of other firms' agreements would need other firms' agreements. We do not have them and will not pretend to. You compare against your own positions.
Not a second opinion
A review is working material for a qualified person to check. It has no authority to approve anything and never will.
Not a court form generator
C100 and Form E are not drafted here. Numo prepares what goes into the official form instead.
Not a silent editor
Nothing changes in a document without somebody pressing something, and every change says who pressed it.
Asked before buying
- How do I know it has not invented the quotation?
- Because it is checked. Every finding has to quote the document, and the quotation is matched against the text before the finding is kept. Ones that do not match are discarded and the number discarded is printed in the summary, so you can see the guardrail working rather than take it on trust.
- Can we write our own playbook from a document we already use?
- Yes. Start from one of the six, edit it until it is yours, or start with nothing and add rules one at a time. A rule takes a minute to write and is then applied to every document forever.
- Does it work on the other side's draft?
- That is what it is for. Say which side you act for and a term that is worse for your client than it needs to be becomes a finding, while one that is worse for theirs does not.
- What happens to a document that tries to instruct the assistant?
- It is withheld before the model sees it, and the review says so plainly rather than returning a result from a document that was trying to steer it.
